Meakusma invites Swiss guitarist, composer, and improv musician Manuel Troller, who just released his new solo album Halcyon Future on three:four records and Meakusma.
Manuel has provided an eclectic mix delving into 70s Brazilian and Bolivian music, contemporary avant-pop, underground hip-hop from the Bahamas, minimal 80s jazz from Japan, noise-turntablism, and futuristic electronic music, lifting the veil a bit on the music that influences him.
His new Halcyon Future album is a rhythmically dense, ambiguous, yet joyful ride for unstable times, a plea for warmth and hopeful resistance. Somewhere on the verge of a jazz-influenced, motorik, post-ECM balearic plateau, Halcyon Future is an essential futuristic listen with an incredibly wide scope.
