Would Paul Hindemtih have liked hip hop?
At the moment I'm listening a lot to the composer Paul Hindemith. This avant-garde german composer from the 20th century has a very interesting career because he composed pieces that still sound very modern today, notably “the 4 temperaments”, but he has links with other music, he trained for example the famous American jazz pianist Andrew Hill in composition for two years, he also experimented with the ancestors of synthesizers like trautonium..So I can easily mix it with the new current Jazz scene including Ambrose Akinmusire or the futuristic hip hop of Sun Ra's spiritual son, alias Ray-g.. Without forgetting all my classical discoveries as Julius Eastman / Jean luc Fafchamps / Olivier Greif and Hindemith close music of Werner Egk. Enjoy!
