De Kat Memwa is a new resident of Ghent, having recently moved from Sweden. He is dedicated to promoting obscure and non-obvious music through the curation of his eponymous mix series and two radio shows on Malmö-based Retreat Radio. His broad musical interests range from meditative ambient, outsider folk, and medieval ballads to pre-Columbian music, delay-infused post-punk, trap shoegaze, and everything in between and beyond. Currently, he is closely involved in @lise.gent, a new cultural project aiming to contribute to the local underground music scene.
