Pop Overbite is a celebration of vintage international pop music – more specifically music from underrepresented areas, bygone eras, and unexpected sources – whether it's Soviet new wave, Bahraini disco, Greenlandic folk garage, or Euro 80's private press synth pop. We share music that makes you ask “Who is that?” “Where was that made?” and “When was that made?” Pop Overbite began in 2018 as an Instagram account with the simple aim of sharing (mostly) forgotten music videos from around the world. It has since evolved into a full-fledged record store in Los Angeles, CA, selling original vinyl and cassettes of that very same music. When not running the shop, founders Lucas Lyndes and Elliot Thompson travel the world discovering more music and sharing with new audiences via the shop, record pop-ups, DJing, radio shows, and more.
